Let's Review! Pumpkin Station; in Rancho Bernardo

⭐⭐⭐⭐✰
4/5 stars Good place to visit

Ages: 6 and under

Time: 2 hours

Website: https://www.pumpkinstation.com/

Today we went on a preschool field trip to the Pumpkin Station. Arrived about 9 am and there was only one or two other families with littles there other than our field trip class. Take note that by 10:30 three other school busses showed up and dropped off field trippers from other preschools and kindergartens and lines formed making it harder for the single families to get to everything. Go early if you can. Also take note that their website says, "giant slides" and "inflatables" but these were not at the Rancho Bernardo location. Maybe some of their other locations have more activities that older kids would enjoy.

I did not bring my stroller in because I knew some of the activities would not be stroller friendly (hayride, train ride, pumpkin patch, sunflower cutting) but the main area is flat, and I did see a family there with a stroller.  Just know you won't be able to go into the patches with one.

We started off feeding the baby goats and chasing a chicken about.  I saw some older kids go inside the petting area, but our group stayed outside and just fed the goats through the fence.

Then we went on a hayride, they had two tractors pulling carts. They drive you past their pumpkin and sunflower fields. It wasn't too long, my 4-year-old enjoyed it, and my 5-month-old was content to watch the world pass by from the ergo I was wearing her in.

After that we checked out the mini train. My 4-year-old was able to ride alone, as did a few other kids. There were a few parents who braved the ride and squished themselves into the train seats. It went round and round about 4 times.

Next, we entered the corn maze.  Which after having gone through the big maze in Portsmouth RI I was a bit worried about how this would go with my two littles.  I shouldn't have worried though, while some people got a little lost and turned about, it wasn't actually that difficult to find the exit.  Just about the time some of the littles were done being lost we found the last turn and path out.  Older kids would probably have fun running through it on their own.

We walked along their pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin, then headed up to their sunflower field and clipped ourselves one to take home. The walk up to the sunflowers was a little hike. Our shoes definitely got a bit muddy.

Overall, it was a good little field trip. My son had a great time, some cute fall activities. Would definitely recommend as an outing for families with littles. (Just watch out for those school field trippers, they can make it crowded)
